... orange - or so ran the advertising slogan for a phone company a clutch of years ago. Do you remember? It was in my head when, on a cold and blustery weekend, me and my watercolour box decided to mess around together for a few hours ...
... and then spliced the bits we liked best into a homemade spiral-bound booklet. Sometimes, you just need to take yourself off and play - and I harbour the probably totally fantastic idea that, somehow, just looking at bright colours and shapes enlivens and resets a brain wearied by too much grey thinking and black-and-white print. Hoping that it's been cheering for you too, and here's to a colourful week! Sending you warmest good wishes, wherever you are :).
Lovely in every way! And yes, we can definitely use some color here this week. It's needed both weather-wise and as a boost to our morale as we await the end of the simply awful election season this year! Thanks!

That orange sure is cheery on what is a rainy, cold, dreary day here in southeastern PA.
The carrots are so cute. Now I'm thinking I MUST cook carrots with supper tonight. :::wink:::

It looks as though you had a marvelous few hours with your sketch book & watercolours. It certainly is a cheery set of sketches.

What fantastic bits of orange. Such lovely watecoloring! Yes, it always does me good to see bits of color ... especially on a gray rainy day like today.

How fabulous to sit down with your watercolours and simply play. Especially when it rewards you with such wonderful pictures. A beautiful, warming display in your book and yes, the colours help break up a grey day xx

These are all beautiful and so cheering. You've used subtle shades of orange which is calming too. Flowers in a plant pot, a drink, wrapped sweets, carrots, flower petals - all lovely happy images.
