Puddle around with colour to create a background, squint when it's dry to see interesting shapes and textures, and then paint out the bits you don't want in white. And the final painting, turned into a card, looked like this ...
A bit of paper, some poster paint or acrylics, a brush ... Cheaper than buying yourself flowers, lasts longer, you might be able to give it to someone, a real spirits-lifter when you can't take any more news bulletins without imploding or hiding under the duvet - do let me know if you give it a go :).
