OH Alexa - so beautifully written as always! I am so glad y'all had this time & am praying that the Lord will comfort and surround you with peace and good memories as you move into a new chapter of your lives! {{{Hugs}}}

I take my hat off to you for providing them with love and care in the twilight of their lives. That is a very special thing to do. I hope you can now enjoy special time together - just you two.

I too looked after my parents until they died. The aftermath is strange. I think this is because you can let go of the tension and yet you don't quite know what to replace it with. Take care of yourselves and remember that grief has no time limit you are allowed to grieve for as long as it takes.
We'll be here when you are ready to come back

Debs

Alexa, my deepest sympathies. You and your parents have been blessed with such a special relationship thanks to your loving care over these many years. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead as you celebrate your dad's life, and adjust to the new rhythms of just the two of you.

Susanne

Alexa, I didn't see your 2011 your beautifuly, heartfelt post, so I'm glad you shared it again. I'm sad for you because I know you are grieving, but I do hope you and Himself take comfort in the support you provided to both your parents during their senior years. Peace to you...

So sorry to hear of your loss, but good that you were able to be there for your parents when they needed you and be able to have those times together. I pray for peace and comfort in your grief and hope that your thanksgiving service is a rich time of remembrance. Take care and best wishes for the season.
