... two: just Himself and me in the snow. For it is with great sadness that I share with you that Dad - who lived with us since 2011 - has died following a fall and seven weeks of complications in hospital ...
It seems very strange here, as we prepare our Service of Thanksgiving and goodbye to him. Sifting through photos, I found this page, made way back in Spring the year that he and Mum moved in with us ...
And in the midst of it all, we are glad that we have indeed been right here ... Warmest good wishes to you all, and I will back with you in a little while. xx Alexa
Oh Alexa, sending all my love and a big, warm (virtual) hug ... that spread you found from all those years ago is beautiful. Indeed you were right there. right where you needed to be. xxoo.

I take my hat off to you for providing them with love and care in the twilight of their lives. That is a very special thing to do. I hope you can now enjoy special time together - just you two.

I too looked after my parents until they died. The aftermath is strange. I think this is because you can let go of the tension and yet you don't quite know what to replace it with. Take care of yourselves and remember that grief has no time limit you are allowed to grieve for as long as it takes.
We'll be here when you are ready to come back

Alexa, I didn't see your 2011 your beautifuly, heartfelt post, so I'm glad you shared it again. I'm sad for you because I know you are grieving, but I do hope you and Himself take comfort in the support you provided to both your parents during their senior years. Peace to you...
