The first is the completion of a piece of work started in a real-time class at the Janome Centre with Dionne Swift, and I am hopeful these techniques will make their way onto a scrapbooking page before long. Free-motion embroidery became a lot easier once I discovered that the foot pedal of my sewing machine has two speeds and the slowest one gives much more control. I've only had the machine six years ... (Did someone say Duh?).

As part of her Year Of The Fairytale, Carla has put together an illustrated e-zine of all the work we have done in her class on the story of the Princess and the Pea; we were each asked to choose an object other than a pea which The Princess might have under her bed, and design two pages to illustrate it. You won't have to scroll or click for long if you'd like to see mine in full - there are advantages to having a first name with starts with A! Do keep flicking through, though - we're a diverse group with some amazing talent ...
