Sounds like a wonderful vacation! I could feel a hint of regret in your wonderful words ;)

Looks and sounds lovely!

The postcard photos look amazing and hopefully you are refreshed for the final sprint until the end of the year. Now all the Christmas items are in the shops (OMG). It never ends. Would you believe it in January in Australia they start putting out Hot Cross Buns in the supermarket which is meant for Easter which is normally late March early April. Consumerism and marketing...it really annoys me. Happy to buy Hot Cross Buns at the end of February even but January.....seriously folks. Now back to what I was saying...your photos are lovely and I loved all your scavenger hunt photos. It's amazing to think you found all those things in your area/travels.

We have just got back from 10 days camping and I haven't even had time to upload the photos...hopefully will do that sometime tomorrow and a post. For now, I'm off to put spag bog in the slow cooker for dinner. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

Ever practical Alexa - such a great idea to encapsulate your thoughts in a postcard ... and practical because you posted it here, to all of us, in perfect time!

looks and sounds fabulous. oh for some of that warm that seeps into your bones as I look at the window at a sheen of frost on the grass

You are seriously the most clever blogger I know, Alexa. I love the way you executed this post - just so lovely. Welcome home, and do take your time easing back into the flow.

You really do know how to make us all smile with your fabulous photos and writing x

Beautiful on all counts - the writing, the card, the idea. You never fail Alexa! Sorting the packing and catching up with life that's been happening around you are the worse thing about coming home. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are feeling refreshed.

What a lovely note...the pleasure of a different place mixed with the comfort of the familiar.

It reminds me of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz..."there's no place like home."

We're off on our own adventure soon and, while I'm anticipating all it will have to offer, I know I will be glad to be home when vacation is done.

What a lovely postcard!

Thank you so much for the postcard, I always enjoy getting them :) Sounds like a lovely vacation but as always nice to be back home.

That was a lovely postcard - cheered up my morning mail sorting a treat. The vacation summary (or should that be a summery? ;) sounded blissful.

So lovely, so evocative, I could almost be there [and wish I was!] What a perfect way to encapsulate your return home.

Thank you for sharing this with going Postal - I've pinned it to the board http://www.pinterest.com/notesonpaper/going-postal/[the online equivalent to sticking it to the fridge where I can admire it!]

Welcome home. x

This is so beautiful and so creative Alexa. Your post has cleared away the grey sky and fierce winds outside my window.

Your descriptions are so vivid Alexa. Beautiful photos too.

I don't know how you do it, I always find it difficult to write postcards! Beautifully done x
