... as far as playtime and letting-off-steam time goes, since days 7, 8 and 9 of Learn Something New Every Day are still in process. When I get to rule the universe, I'll be issuing everyone with a clutch of Stop-The-World cards. :)
In the meantime, my eye was caught by the lovely LOs and challenge from The Simple Aussie Girls this week. Based on an advert from a magazine (and you know how I love those), I couldn't resist.
Himself was dubious. Cue: head cocked on one side, eyes flicking from screen to print-out and a sharp sucking-in of breath through pursed lips. OK, so I've popped the double-pager onto an A4 landscape, and yes, I may have trimmed off a few photos and, fine, I hold my hands up, reversed the design. Plus, I left room to punch holes for the spiral binding. But I think it's close enough to count ... no? It does, in any case, make me smile just to look at it, and given the week I am having, that's a bonus. Even if there are no extra hours off for good conduct. :).
I'll put my hand up for one of those cards!
I love that you reversed the layout Alexa, this was a really tricky challenge for me as I don't gravitate to double pages - you have done a fantastic job of converting it to suit your needs!

Another beautiful LO - I can see why you were tempted by the advert's design - look's like a wonderful spot that you walk to nearly every day. Like you, the Peak District has gotten under my skin since I was very young. Pxx

Alexa, you should be designing the adverts themselves! Such a pleasing look you have achieved here with your tweaks

Alexa, what a wonderful page you have made - a real Memory Page! I love the journalling that you have written; it's something special that you can keep for when your grandson is older (and maybe for when he has his own children, because then he'll appreciate it best!).
Sorry to hear you're having "one of those" weeks... Hope there's an improvement from now on.

I always believe that making a challenge your own is the best part of doing it. You took the concept and ran with it! Kudos.

And a card for me please Alexa. I love what you are doing with your year book. This Lo and memory is lovely. We are big on memories this week, we have a wedding anniversary, and are wondering where 27 years have gone. Any ideas? Hoping your week picks up.

Any time you take a challenge and come up with a stunning page like this one, it's a job well done! I don't think one needs to follow the sketch exactly to qualify.

Love the time-out cards - you'd get my vote in the universe-ruling elections!
Love your page - what it is to be young and barefoot by a stream - bliss!

I am very slow in catching up on postings lately, life seems to be running full steam with me jogging behind. But once again, glad I didn't miss this because it is such a lovely post, Alexa. Your grandson will love looking at your pages when he is older, and what lovely memories and stories to share. Happy days....
